The perception of the European Quarter of Brussels is one of buildings that have been erected as and when the need arises. Together with a lack of architectural identity and planning, traditional parcels have been ravaged to satisfy emerging demands.
This project, drawn up for a European competition to build extensions for the European Commission, proposes using basic volumes, extremely simple shapes with discreet references to the context, and a large object positioned between the others without totally ignoring them. Within this immense cube the layout and volumes of the interior spaces are then revealed.
